A – Admission
Is there an admission fee to the festival?
Yes. In 2010, the nonprofit Detroit RiverFront Conservancy implemented a $3 admission fee. The fee supplements the sponsorship dollars to help put on the festival. Children ages 3 and under; seniors ages 65 and up; and active and retired service members with their military identification are not required to pay an admission fee. After 3pm, admission is $5.
The Conservancy is offering a "Free Friday" promotion where admission will be free to the festival between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, June 22nd. Once you have been admitted during that time, you can stay through the evening.
PLEASE NOTE: Any one between ages of 13 and 17 needs to be with a parent/guardian/family member OR an adult 25 or over at all times.
Any one age 12 and under needs to be with a parent/guardian/family member OR an adult age 21 and over at all times.
C – Canines
Can I bring my dog to the festival?
Yes, the Detroit RiverWalk is pet-friendly year-round. Please keep your dog on a leash at all times and please clean up after your pet.
Carnival
What are the costs of carnival rides? Individual ride tickets are 50 cents each. Most rides require 3 to 5 tickets. Wristbands are $20 for the entire day. A new wristband is required for each day. Please note: Carnival wristbands do not include moonwalks or zip line.
Chairs
A limited amount of chairs will be allowed in at the gates for each show. Once that space has filled, we will not be allowing any additional chairs in at all entrances.
Please note, that there is no place to secure and store guests’ chairs at the festival site once capacity for them has been reached.
D – Dietary Needs
Can I bring food and drinks into the festival?
There is no outside food and beverage permitted inside the festival. Exceptions will be made to persons with special dietary and/or medical needs, such as small children, elderly or pregnant women. Alcohol of any kind brought in from the outside is not permitted.
Coolers of any variety are strictly prohibited unless they are needed to support special dietary needs and can fit into a backpack.
E – Event
What is the Detroit River Days Festival?
River Days is a 3-day festival taking place on the Detroit RiverWalk June 22-24, 2018. With all new activities aimed at widening the experience on the riverfront, as well as live concerts, this year’s River Days will span the Detroit RiverWalk from the Port Authority just east of the GM Renaissance Center to William G. Milliken State Park and Harbor, Michigan’s first urban state park.
F – Fireworks
Is there an admission fee on Monday, June 25th for the Target Fireworks?
No, the River Days festival will close this year on Sunday June 24th and not take place during the Target Fireworks.
The Target Fireworks are on Monday, June 25th. Note of courtesy: the RiverWalk will remain closed during the festival and through Tuesday morning, June 26th.

Why was the festival created?
The Detroit RiverFront Conservancy began the festival in June 2007 to introduce the community and visitors to the transformed Detroit International Riverfront. The festival marked the opening of significant portions of the new Detroit RiverWalk and the festival has continued each year to spotlight our magnificent resources and this new destination in the city of Detroit.

What is the location of the festival?
The festival runs between Atwater Street and the Detroit RiverWalk from the GM Renaissance Center and the new Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority Terminal to Rivard Plaza and the William G. Milliken State Park.

R – Riverfront
About the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy:
The Detroit RiverFront Conservancy is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2003 with the mission of bringing public access to Detroit’s Riverfront. Today, more than three miles of the east Riverfront is complete and open to the public.
The Conservancy envisions the transformation of Detroit’s International Riverfront – the face of Detroit – into a beautiful, exciting, safe, accessible, world-class gathering place for all.
The overarching goal remains in place: to develop a total of 5 ½ miles of Riverfront, from the Ambassador Bridge to Gabriel Richard Park, just east of the Belle Isle Bridge connected by RiverWalk, plazas, pavilions, parks, harbors and green spaces.
The Conservancy is responsible for the construction, improvement, operation, maintenance, security, programming and expansion of the Detroit RiverWalk and associated green spaces, including the Dequindre Cut.

Can I use the same wristband throughout the weekend?
No, the wristbands will be changed to reflect each new day at the festival.
